Contacts data from Touch cruise to Diamond

Hi All,

I have friend who was using the Touch cruise and wants to move all the data from that to new Diamond.

Can some one advise about it. Here is my idea, Install this on XP system http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync45.mspx

Then connecting his Touch cruise and copying all the data onto PC and then connect the Diamond to PC and install all the data onto it. Never tried this, can you geeks tell me, is there any important steps I need to follow to complete this, without making mistakes.

Thanks in advance,
:-)

Use PIM Backup. Google it, download it, install it, and run it. It will save all of your contacts into a backup file. Transfer that file to the Diamond and install PIM Backup. Use it to restore your old contacts.

Or you can go the ActiveSync route. BUT in EITHER CASE USE PIM BACKUP FIRST, in order to ensure ActiveSync doesn't accidentally wipe your contacts on the Cruise.

Hi Mate,

Thanks for instant reply. Here is my questions.

Should I download this PIM http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...ckup-v2-8.html

on PC OR TOUCH CRUISE.

as it shows how to backup and restore on phone itself, this is confusing for me.

If you dont mind can you describe the process a little clear.

Once again , Thanks mate

Go to dotfred.net and download the program there. It is a PPC program, so just put it on your storage card. You may have to use a computer to transfer the files to the Diamond. But other then that, it's pretty user intuitive to figure out.

Hi MrObvious,

You mean download this program(dotfred.net) on Touch cruise and do a backup of all data onto storage card or any location.

Then use the storage card to load that data onto PC
Then connect the diamond or install(dotfred.net) and install those data onto it.

Please correct me if wrong

Right. Install PIMBackup off of dotfred.net on both phones.

Ok here is other question.

My friend said that he has Sprite backup software on both Touch cruise and Diamond, I can use that software to backup contacts on touch cruise and save it on the memory card.

But the Touch diamond doesnt have memory card for it!!

Please someone advise in step order to transfer contacts. Well I "THINK" he got cable to contact PC.

Thanks :-)

So my plan is to install

If he uses Sprite Backup (or PIM backup even), then use the cable to transfer the backup file over to the PC, then use the cable to transfer the backup file over to the Diamond Internal Storage.

You got a USB to mini-USB cable? If you have AS/WMDC installed on the computer then all you gotta do is move the PIMBackup and the actual backup to the phone.
