Re: Diamond as Modem help?

Flash a custom ROM and when you connect it to the computer, choose Internet Sharing! then you're done.

Re: Diamond as Modem help?

No need for a custom rom, I have a Diamond and am on stock sprint firmware going fine with phone as modem.

You need to change a few registry keys if you don't pay for the phone as modem plan. This will let you tether for free.

1. Edit the following registry entries.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" entry

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint PCS"

2. Start the Internet Sharing application.
3. Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application.
4. Connect the Diamond to the Laptop/PC via USB or Bluetooth

The quick fix is to install ActiveSync which gives you the right driver for your laptop.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension=""
(change the value to a blank string.)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint"
(Change value "Sprint" not "Sprint PCS")

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
MaxCMCon=0
(Add this new entry with the right value)

Re: Diamond as Modem help?

Do the registry tweak, I believe there is a .cab file as well. Then download "wifirouter" and use that as a wireless router. Works flawless. Some roms dont let me do internet sharing while connected to my pc via USB.
