SMS & Bluetooth?

The radio in my car (Ford Sync - by Microsoft) is capable of reading and saying any incoming SMS messages as well as allowing me to reply to them. The only catch is the phone must support this feature.

Anybody know if there is a way to allow the phone to support sending an SMS message over Bluetooth?

Thanks,
The Doctor

Re: SMS & Bluetooth?

The Microsoft Sync product is supposed to read the SMS messages directly from the phone over bluetooth provided the phone supports it. Sync also allows me to send "canned" messages back out via bluetooth as well directly from the car's radio.

have you checked that out?

the diamond/touch pro aren't on there, but it looks as though sms isn't supported on some random windows mobile devices. you think that every option would AT LEAST be compatible with a microsoft operating system.... oh well. but yeah, i dunno. you might want to call microsoft.

Re: SMS & Bluetooth?

I'm well aware of the syncmyride webside, if you notice many (most?) of the phones listed as compatible aren't even available any more. But yes you'd think that you'd get decent interoperability between Microsoft products.

I was hoping there was a registry tweak/hack that would allow SMS to be controlled via Bluetooth,

Re: SMS & Bluetooth?

I was also wondering this, as well as the in-band ringtones in order to play the phone's ringtones over the car speakers. I have a Mogul with a 08 ford focus. I know there are hacks to improve bluetooth capability as well as programs to improve it, but don't wanna mess with the phone until I know what to do. Has no one at all tried stuff or figured anything out? Please help!
