How do you clean...

the storage? I'm not talking about a hard reset, I wanna take some of the things out afterwards though. For example, in the windows directory, there are a bunch of files called "Album Sample xx" mostly jpg, one 3gp. They're nice pictures, good camera work, but after looking at them once I don't need to see them again... all in all it would be 2-3 megs easily saved.

The problem comes in that they're flagged as read only and system; and TC can't un-flag them apparently. I'm pretty sure I could get a bunch more space available if they didn't cram the phone full of stuff like this, or at least allowed us to delete it easily...

So, any suggestions, short of loading a cooked rom? This is a sprint, pretty much all stock phone for now.

stop customization after hard reset, kills all the sprint bloatware. just reinstall what you want. sprint tv ect.

humm, pretty sure I did that first thing when i took it out of the box... gonna try it again see if those files are still there... thx for reminding me

you would know if you did it, big + also did you change where opera cache is stored? using opera user pref.

Just tried it again, the files are still there... also, the sprint software store and the pocket express stuff is still in there... sprint tv is gone, contacts are gone, so i'm pretty sure the reset worked; now, it did try and run the customizations twice (after the screen alignment, and after the next reset). I've reset it both times, but it looks like it still got to do some of em...

Should I just man up and get a kitchen/rom installed?

I didn't think stopping the customizations stops the sample pictures from being loaded. I think those files can be deleted through a file explorer called Total Commander ( http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm )

Custom ROMs... FTW!!!!

All those pictures will still be included in a custom rom, and even in the base kitchen. Sorry. But I do agree that you should change to one anyways! You'll love them.

Anyways. Saving the xtra 3mb isn't going to help you too much. You are better off removing all Sprint bloatware, and then storing your programs onto the internal storage card, and as darren.wlsn1 said, change the Opera cache to save on the storage card (if you use it).

thats exactly what i did plus moved opera cache to internal.

I use a kitchen and remove all of the sample pictures as well as the ringtones alarms that I don't use (which is mosst of them).

It is good advise to use a kitchen or one of the great new roms out there.
