my phone is froze on the password screen how do I get past this

you try a soft reset yet? pop the back cover off and hit the hole with the stylus

If the soft reset does not not work, and you have not changed your password. Try the last four numbers of your phone number.

If that does not work, you might have to do a hard reset. This is the key combination,

Power button
Vol Down button
Circle centre button
Reset button

after a hard reset my phone is still FROZEN says touch diamond with the red #'s etc at bottom ? any ideas ?

For the OP, a hard reset should take care of you.

As for the last poster, you probably need to first download your carrier's shipped rom. Then put the phone into bootloader and flash that shipped rom.
