Is it just my imagination? (Battery Life)

I recently purchased the Diamond. And as with a new gadget, I pamper it like a baby.

I used to carry my Touch naked but Diamond being a new gadget, I carry it in its OEM case. I suffer the short battery life like everyone else. But as the new gadget pampering starts to wear off after three weeks, and my old habits starting to kick in, my Diamond has been case-less for the past two days. Suddenly, I am finding that my battery life has become significantly better.

So, is it just my imagination or is someone else experiencing this?

P.S. I also notice that in a completely dark environments, I find that the Diamond screen back light doesn't really turn off.

I'm starting to notice that sometimes when I hit the top power button that my backlight doesn't seem to fully stop. Also the 4 buttons on the bottom are still lit.

I notice this sometimes as well, (or I used to with stock ROM), and a soft reset usually solved. Not sure why it was happening though.

I too have just recently purchased a Diamond and have had the same experience. but also I have experienced the unexplained instant battery drain ( within 1 hr of taking it off charge). I've also recently had to do several hard resets behind this
