PocketMusic and turning off screen

I use PocketMusic to listen to music from my phone, because WMP and the HTC Music Tab both were always cutting out or skipping to the next song prematurely.

When I start it up, I usually press the top Power button on the Diamond to turn off the screen, so I can put it into my pocket. Sometimes, the music keeps playing, and sometimes, the music stops until I turn the screen back on.

If I wait for the screen to turn itself off, the music keeps going.

Can anyone explain why this happens, please? (Also... I made the move to PocketMusic before flashing Juicy's ROM... is the HTC music player issue fixed by any chance? )

i also use pocketmusic and do not have this problem.. it could be the rom you are using, but i think there is an option in the settings to allow the device to sleep or not or something like that.. i know its in there somewhere..

Hmm, ok, I unchecked "disable device sleep while playing", so I'll see if that makes a difference. I'm not entirely confident, because it sometimes shuts the music off and sometimes not - the seeming randomness of it disheartens me.

I'm on Juicy's ROM, still 3.7.1, I think. Also interesting to note, I sometimes cannot use Juicy's "long hold End key" to lock the screen when PocketMusic is playing. Sometimes it works though.
