Re: Scratch Polisher

I heard acetone/nail polish remover can do wonders with scratches in screens, but don't quote me on that...

Google for 'screen scratch removal'? I don't think there is a film coating applied to the Diamond so you don't have to worry about peeling/eating that away.

Re: Scratch Polisher

I found alot of commercial products, but I would rather hear from somebody that has tried it on the Diamond's screen. I dont want to make it worse. I used Toothpaste on some Xbox games once and got good results, I may try that when i get home.

Re: Scratch Polisher

It will be hard if not possiblem to remove that scratch...did you have a screen protecter on the screen...and I would also recomend body shield or whatever is called to tally protect your diamond from scratches.

Re: Scratch Polisher

No screen protector, Its on the way though, but its a bit like closing the barn door after the cows already got out. Sombody over at Xda mentioned that polishing the screen may affect the touch sensitivity i wonder if thats true.

Re: Scratch Polisher

Ok, I used masking tape to tape off the section that had the scratch and got a small piece of soft cloth. Then dapped a tiny amount of toothpaste and buffed the scratched area for about 20 minutes and then gently wiped off the toothpaste. This did indeed help the scratch, you can still see it, but it is very faint now.

Re: Scratch Polisher

I would not recommend it. I used it and it made the scratch rainbow colored when the screen was on (light passing through the scratch.) It does make the scratch smaller but more noticeable in some situations. I put on an Invisible shield screen protector and I hardly notice the scratch.

LOL movax, acetone!? Not a very nice suggestion what if someone listened. Acetone will destroy most plastics, i would not want to try this with anything.
