remote desktop setup

this is a little different then the one I have on my ipod touch which asks you for

Name:
IP Adress
Password

remote desktop PPC asks for

Computer: is this same as name from above?
User Name: is this ip adress?
Password: Same as above?
Domain: ??

can someone help me set this up, I already have VNC set up on my desktop I just don't understand what they are asking for on my diamond

computer = IP or DDNS
Username = logon Username (administrator, chris, etc)
Password = logon Password.
Domain = blank.

VNC is different than using remote desktop.
Remote desktop involves you setting it up on your computer, it's a built in windows feature.
User name = your login name for windows
password = the password associated with this login
Computer = the ip address or computer name
Domain can be left blank or you can put the name of the computer here depends on how you have your users setup.

so you really don't need a "VNC" type program running in the background for this to work, its just built in?

you need to have Remote Desktop set up on your computer.

Right click My Computer>Properties>Remote>Remote Desktop.

Yes not all versions of windows support it though. I've only used XP professional, so that's the only XP I can speak for. In Vista natively only Business and Ultimate support remote desktop.
