spb backup

ok i tried to look for this but its 3 letters long. so, when i flash to a new rom how do i back up all my files but the ones that are rom specific . i looked and saw that you can do a customized back up but do i leave out all the sys files or go through them one by one?

do either a full or customized backup and when you actually do the restore it asks you if you want to do or even force rom upgrade mode. It also gives you new device option, not sure whether that means new version of same device or entirely new device type, but one of these options should work. I usually backup with the option for standalone restore as well. Hope that helps

I use SPB backup and do a custom back up and only back up the main stuff (PIM) I did not choose to back up my emails cause once I signin to my email account they all pop back up anyway but then I noticed my texts are gone. I dont back up my documents cause there is nothing in there besides the phone logs which I dont need anymore and I dont back up system data.
Now Im trying to restore a back up on a new ROM with the PIM data and emails (to see if this includes my texts)
