Diamond + Airave?

I 've had my diamond and airave combo now for about 2 weeks. The diamond does not show the service from the airave unless, I'm sending a text message, or placing a call. Downstairs in my rec room, I'm receiving text messages just fine, but others aren't receiving my responses till hours after I send them. Even in my basement when placing calls or sending texts my service is great on 1x, but again the phone will stay on either 0 bars of evdo, or 1 bar. Could this be causing my problems sending texts? Or is it the airaves fault? If it matters any, more of the people I'm texting are on Verizon. Thanks.

Re: Diamond + Airave?

I just got the airave the day before yesterday. Although they say it's like a cell tower in your house I've found the same thing as you. I don't get better signal unless I'm activelly on a call. I think it's how it designed. It doesn't broadcast a signal until it's connected to your phone.

Here's my problem with Airave. Sprint's version is 1X only but supposedly Verizon's version will be EVDO capable.

Come on Sprint, I want EVDO on Airave.

EVDO is redundant especially if you already have wifi in the house.

That's completely untrue.

RE: Battery Life, drawing data from EV-DO is profoundly better on the Sprint Mogul and Sprint Touch Diamond then drawing data via Wi-Fi.

Show me how that's inaccurate, and I'll listen.

Re: Diamond + Airave?

The airave doesn't have EV-DO? That's quite surprising

Re: Diamond + Airave?

I'm having this same problem!! It works on all my roommates phones but mine.. They have a 755p and Instinct.. It shows full bars on theirs constantly and on mine, it doesn't show jack (and yes theres only 3 of us).. I dont understand this at all.. The ONLY time I get full bars or anything is if I'm actively doing something that uses the network.

Re: Diamond + Airave?

Just as a point of reference, I am noticing the same behavior with my Sprint Touch while my Centro is showing 4-5 bars. 0-2 bars is normal. Clearly this is a HTC thing.

Re: Diamond + Airave?

I think its a Windows Mobile thing.. It has everything to do with this Evdo bit.. If I can figure out how to disable EVDO then I'd have full service w/ out a doubt.

Re: Diamond + Airave?

does this mean you still miss calls, if you missed them before the airave?
