Poor reception...bad Diamond?

I've had my Diamond for two weeks now. Previous to it, i had the Samsung Instinct. In my city, Sprint has full EVDO rev A coverage. Before, on my Instinct in Areas throughout town i would always have full bars or very close to full bars. With the Diamond, I have yet to see full bars anywhere. Areas where I had full bars before, I barely have 2-3. Is this how everyones Diamond is, or is mine faulty? I have flashed to the Verizon radio, with little to no improvement. Thanks.

Don't judge by number of bars, especially between different phones.

Judge on call quality.

I find the diamond a little better than average.

Yes, i know bars for the most part are meaningless, but when you're in the middle of the major shopping areas with towers all around and you're sitting at 1 bar of service its a little disheartening. Is there a way to get the -db readings on the diamond? So i can see an accurate reception rating?

my diamond seems to have lower signal then previous devices but its true dont let the bars fool you.

##DEBUG will take you to the field test where you can get a dB rating on signal quality.

Re: Poor reception...bad Diamond?

to me I think if it's going to have good reception....it should show that it has good reception! When I had instunk it did the same thing..1-2 bars unless I was in the sprint store!

My Diamond does the same thing, I'm in an area where it should easily be 5 bars, but it maxes out at 3 or 4 in Rev A. No biggie, my OCD isn't that bad.
