Smile Sprint Diamond Battery- New Observations

Hey folks, Now call me crazy.. but I have no problems with my Diamond's stock battery life at all. I can go two and a half days on a full charge with about 30-40 msgs a day, about 45 total combined minutes of internet usage, 30-45min of calls and downloading about 2 Sprint Music store tracks a day. Everyone I work with at Sprint who has one complains about their battery life too. The only thing I can think of that is different is that I don't use HTC chargers. All the chargers I have around my house are Blackberry Pearl and Curve chargers, which are 5V and .7A as opposed to HTC's 5V 1A. Yeah, it takes longer to charge, but apparently it's serving me quite well. I charge my phones overnight anyways.. Why fill a bucket with a firehose, when you're just gonna make a mess? Use a steady faucet flow and keep things clean!

Give it a try folks and let me know how it goes!!!!!

Re: Sprint Diamond Battery- New Observations

That's a pretty bad analogy. I seriously doubt this has anything to do with it but hey...ya never know.

Re: Sprint Diamond Battery- New Observations

Not a terrible analogy at all. 1A is a LOT of power for such a small device. Reducing it by 30% can take a lot of stress off of the battery, not to mention increase overall longevity. I realize that Lithium Ion batteries don't have a memory effect, but I believe the increased amperage is causing a spike in heat as well. We all know batteries don't mix well with high heat.. In my 7 years of working in wireless, I've never had a phone get as warm as this one does, particularly on the HTC branded charger. The heat isn't so bad with the RIM chargers though. I'm not an electrician, but I know my phones, and my usage patterns speak for themselves. All I'm saying is give it a shot!
