Re: signal strength options needed

call sprint and tell them just that....I did today and they are sending me a box called an Airave. It is normally 99.99 with a 4.95 monthy service charge but if you have been a customer for a while (i have been with them 5 years) you can get it free like i did. They even waived the 4.95 charge for two years! You must have a broadband connection and here is a link about it.

http://www.nextel.com/en/services/ai...=vanity:airave

Put in your zip code to find out if you can get it..I just hope this thing works like it says it does...good luck

Keep in mind that Airave will work for 1xRTT only.

From Airave FAQ

http://www.nextel.com/assets/pdfs/en...irave_faqs.pdf

Data
22. Does AIRAVE support Sprint Mobile Broadband (EVDO)?
AIRAVE does not currently support Sprint Mobile Broadband (EVDO) data speeds.
Your mobile device will continue to receive Sprint Mobile Broadband (EVDO)
services directly from the Nationwide Sprint Network while within range of the
AIRAVE.

i stand corrected, but the latter of the paragraph is borderline contradictive then!

ive sold plenty of airaves and never heard any negative complaints about signal or evdo coverage using an airave. i could be wrong though.

sprint would have to release a updated radio version, unless someone hear could implement a different one. and that usually comes along with custom roms/kitchens when it becomes available. for sprint, its not around yet

a telus radio version will not work on a sprint device without risky entensive hacking.
