silence when upside down?

just curious,

I was wondering if there was a hack where if the phone is upside down, it will go on silence. I know there is one available where when upside down, it will mute the call, or ignore the call. But...

is there one to make it go on silence when face down, and normal volume mode face up?

There is no built in feature that does that.

I did find a program called Profile Switcher at the XDA site that switches between Loud Ringer and Vibrate by shaking your phone. But I found it to be a bit buggy and you always have to keep the program running in the backround, which I personnaly dont like.

+1 for this program still being a bit buggy... too much so for me. I tried it and it works for the most part, but I also am not fond of having to keep apps running in the background.

I second that, thanks guys. Though it is a nifty app, I can't imagine having the phone in my pocket that accidentally turns on then shakes as I walk to make the phone keep switching mode.

I keep thinking of battery killer.
