Thinking bout getting a Diamond
I was really sold on all the hype with the instinct and was highly disappointed.I had a touch and went to an instinct which was a bad move.It's hard to go from a ppc to a smartphone.I might sound spoiled but it didn't do enough and with no 3rd party apps its really bad.But the two things that i really like is the gps and visual voicemail.But, b4 i switch i have some ?'s.
Does the diamond have gps,that works out the box? If so is it voice turn by turn? Does it have visual voicemail? Is it really slow like i read on some reviews? Is the hot battery a problem or is it being fixed? Thanks.

Uhm, its snappy if you mean the CDMA version, It has Sprint Navigation, took it off and got me a real GPS application, TT7. Hot battery is much better with the newer Juicy ROM's.

The speed of the GPS seems way faster than the instinct, and has no issues for me in finding me when I'm in doors. I haven't had a chance to really test out its turn by turn accuracy, but there are many people who have here and XDA. Sprint Nav gets mixed reviews, many third party apps get a lot of love. So far I think sprint nav out of the box is way better on the Diamond. If so is it voice turn by turn? Yes. Does it have visual voicemail? No. Is it really slow like i read on some reviews? I'm using the sprint rom. Which is slower than some of the new brewed Roms like the one from Juciey. Personally, its not any slower to me than my Instant was. It is slower than the Iphone, but its not really a problem to me. Is the hot battery a problem or is it being fixed? Not sure. But the battery does get hot. It doesn't bother me in terms of use, but I do worry it might damage the phone later on.

TT7 is great for exact locations, I was driving under a bridge and it showed me going under as soon as the hood of my car was below it.

yeah TT7 is a free flowing map whereas the sprint Navi has a slight delay
