Diamond Light Flash on New Email

Hi. I've been searching around to find an answer to this. I'm used to my indicator light flashing when a new email comes in on my previous phone (Wizard). On my new diamond the light around the center button didn't seem to flash in this situation. The settings for "Flash Light on New Email" was grayed out. I did this registry setting to ungray the checkbox:

HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D65A-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}

Changing to 0 the "AvailableOptions" DWORD will un-gray all options except "repeat for"

All good - the checkbox can now be checked. However, the light only seems to flash periodically and it seems to only work if I have the phone plugged in charging.

Any ideas?

Re: Diamond Light Flash on New Email

From playing around today here's my solution for anyone that is interested.

I found that besides doing the registry edit above the light on the phone would not flash unless I checked vibrate and/or play sound on new email message. I don't really want the phone making noise every time a new email message comes in so what I did was create a blank .wav file in audacity. Dropped this in the Windows\ folder. Set the phone to play this sound on new message. It seems to be working the way I want now!
