Diamond Build Quality

Hey -- overall I love the Diamond... but I've noticed a couple of minor annoyances with mine.

1) The battery case (Sprint - original case) creaks on the lower left corner (when unit is facing screen up)

2) A bit of light leakage. I'm not talking about the normal light leakage you see when you tilt the device and look along the edge. I am talking about about a cm tall section of light leakage eminating from the frame of the device when you look at it head-on during normal usage -- about an inch from the bottom of the screen... Kind of like there is a gap between the outer housing and the frame.

Anyway was curious if anybody else had notice these on theirs.

I should have mentioned -- the light leakage is along the left edge.

I'm sitting in the dark, so I just checked mine. No leakage at all. Sounds like you got a defective unit.

Re: Diamond Build Quality

My Telus unit has no leakage. Only minor gripe I have about it is the middle of the right side of the battery case (when phone is facing up), I can press into it slightly and makes a slight sound.

Re: Diamond Build Quality

My Diamond is built pretty solid and I don't see any light leakage. My Mogul creaked a groaned all the time... I could hear myself through the speaker when I talked on the phone.... none of that on the Diamon.

Re: Diamond Build Quality

No creaking or light leakage from mine so far. (And my Touch did creak, so I'm rather sensitive to noise like that)

I have light leakage. You get used to it. It seems like it's the design and not the build quality.

Re: Diamond Build Quality

Light leakage here. Totally sucks. I'm kinda anal about it.

Glad someone started this thread!!

What is your build date and revision imprint?

Mine is 7/17/2008 and FA00.

Mine also gets really hot near the bottom of the phone when I use it alot or it's charging and I am using it.
