Your first impressions of the phone for my amusement

Just considering the upgrade.. will cost the full 5 bills for me since I just got my touch a few months back..
First.. battery life any good? better than the 1100mah god awful touch battery?
Second.. internet useability ... Higher res vga make cruising easier like the Iphone? Is the Youtube App as quick as the Iphone 3g?
Lastly.. With the new Vga screen does Sprint TV look better?

Any other input would be great... but those are a few of my concerns.
THanks

Re: Your first impressions of the phone for my amusement

Internet browsing on the Diamond, I find, to be very pleasing. The double-tap to zoom in is awesome, not to mention the slow-zoom using the touch wheel for those finer precision moments.

The screen is simply gorgeous. EVERYTHING looks better on it.

The battery....oh the battery. I feel its the greatest downfall of this device. I have the 1350mAh standard battery that came with the phone (as compared to the 900mAh). With the stock ROM, the battery lasted a day. Thats without any communications or data transfer or internet usage or phone calls. Maybe 15 texts.

With a custom ROM and very light usage I get 2 days out of it now. 3 if I go into no-use mode.

Thankfully, the Chefs here cook up some nice ROMS which help greatly in improving battery life...but its still sub-par. However, I hear thats a common issue with devices of late. The blackberry bold and curve have reported weak batteries as well.

The rest of your questions I can't answer. I've never tampered with the iPhone (sadly) nor do I have Sprint TV. Youtube is mighty quick to me.

Hope I helped =)

Have insurance? You might be able to get a little creative with this.

Re: Your first impressions of the phone for my amusement

thanks for the responses..
As far as the battery... guess instead of getting the pro.. could have an extended.. 2200mah battery.. hopefully 2 days of moderate usage.

Also.. I may have to try the insurance upgrade.. My Touch is almost useless... If I use the phone for an hour during the day either listening to music.. or Gps'ing.. or browsing the web I usually won't make it till I get home before the battery is gone.. And what really sucks is I've tried 2 different new batteries and I get the same from each.

thanks again
