Sprint Diamond Back

I see alot of people stating that you can get the original backing of the diamond and replace the sprint back side, but seeing the sprint version is more rounded and being a tad bit thicker how will the the original backing fit?

Re: Sprint Diamond Back

You can't. It ain't happening. It's been discussed in threads before.

Even if you switched to the girly little battery in the GSM version, it wouldn't work. The entire chassis of the phone sticks up as far as the battery, and there's not even room for a penny between the chassis and the back (I tried; that's all I had handy). Plus the shape is different...

Of course, if someone wants to post pics to prove me wrong, I'm all eyes. Within a short period, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see a CDMA version of extended batteries and backs. Who knows, some of them might be the original Diamond shape, or different colours.

Just curious - where have you seen a lot of people stating this?

I've seen a number of people assuming that it will work, but don't know I've yet seen anyone state that it will work.

Re: Sprint Diamond Back

Right, so the GSM black back won't work, but what about the Canadian Telus CDMA Diamond back? I'm assuming its black, couldn't we swap that one? I'm fairly sure its exactly the same hardware...

Re: Sprint Diamond Back

Yeah, but parts of the phone that are maroon aren't replaceable. The housing around the charging port for example, is maroon. Would look kind of silly with a black back.

Or maybe it will look good, who knows.

I see a profit for Maaco and Earl Shive paint shops across the country. "we'll paint that ugly Sprint Diamond and make it shine!"

Re: Sprint Diamond Back

I hope someone DOES come out with a faceted back for both the Sprint Diamond and Pro. It just looked so cool!

If Telus comes out with a nice looking one [that fits], I might just pick one up for myself
