Telus Diamond - Can't Hard Reset

Hello, I do not seem to be able to hard reset my Telus HTC Diamond. I tried what the manual says...

1) Press and hold the down and enter buttons.
2) Press the reset button under the battery cover.
3) Release the reset button under the battery cover.
4) Wait for message and then release buttons.
5) Press the up button to hard reset.

I get to step 3 but no mater what I do I never get the hard reset message that the manual talks about. The phone just reboots back into Windows mobile. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there some special trick to hard reset the phone that HTC forgot to put in the manual?

when you say reboots back into windows mobile, do you mean like a soft reset?

Just trying to get a better understanding.

ive been using a utility i scammed from my treo days it restarts the device in hard boot mode.

i can look to upload it and u can try it i have not tried it on the diamond yet but it has never failed me for multiple other devices.

Download this file and then place it on your handset. run it and follow on screen prompts to hard reset your Diamond.

You have to hold down the Power + Volume Down + Enter when restarting. It doesn't mention this in the manual, but there you go. There's been discussions on xda-developers and howardforums, if you want to see more people getting beat up on it.

If you can get into your machine, an easier way to reset it is with the Clear Storage. It will give you the option of ROM, Internal Storage, or both.

No worries... I e-mailed them to let them know what we (it's not just me) found, and they still insist the Power button is not required. But several of us tried REPEATEDLY to Hard Reset it without this, and could never do it. But when using the Power button, I was able to do it twice in two tries.
