Diamond Slow?

So I keep reading these reviews of this phone and one thing they all have in common is that they said it was pretty slow. What do you guys think about these reviews? Do you think that it's the software rather than the phone itself?

i could agree that is has waaaaaaaaaay to much software on it and if you flash it to as custom rom it would be fast as hell

In the reviews I've read, it was the initial ROM's that were slow. More recent ones were faster. Also, some of the review hardware had 128MB of RAM, instead of the current 196 or (for Sprint or Telus) 256MB of RAM, which should also make a difference.

So I'm not too worried.

there was a problem with this phone being slow, but on the htc website they came out with a software upgrade for it already, and it was suppose to fix that problem.
