HTC Keypad and Compact QWERTY cant input characters

Hi,

I know that this question has been asked before but as I tried the solutions - I still can't get the Keypad and the Compact QWERTY to input characters .

1. In Keypad, ABC is turned on: all buttons result in numbers, for example 2abc always result in 2, if I hold it long then it result in nothing.
2. In Compact QWERTY, ABC is turned on, 1er always is 1.

I means it's the same for the slider is ABC or T9, no difference, always numbers.

What I did: using PHM REgEditor:
+ In HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9, the XT9SupportMSSip is 0;
PressAndHoldTimer 250, InputMode = 1
+ In HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\IME:
CurrentET9Style is 0
TextInputMode = 0
KeyboardLayour = 1.

I am with this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much if you can help.

Re: HTC Keypad and Compact QWERTY cant input characters

The Rom is WWE_2.07.841.2, date 30/3/2009.
Model: Touch Diamond, platform: PocketPC, WM6.1

I downloaded the Diamond Tweak, change the SIP so XT9 is disabled. Soft-reset. Nothing changes.

I have done this:
http://forums.techarena.in/portable-devices/1223822.htm - still the same. There is not compime.dll in my windows folder.

So I download the compime.dll from http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...2&d=1245738576

Run the compime.dll cab to install it (however it's for Xperia, don't think it's the appropriate one), and follow instruction of tatarasi in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/arch.../t-381019.html - still the same.

I tried:
1 - disabling T9 in Diamond Tweak would be the first thing to check

2 - if that was disabled, but still there is a problem present, check the registry here:

(i) HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409
- Layout Text should be "eT9 IME" (might have changed to = COMP IME )
- Ime File to "\windows\eT9ime.dll" (might have changed to = / windows/ compime.dll) – that’s why the problem there.

(ii) HKCR\CLSID\{73AB106C-A726-484b-B610-BE3E1CF39821}
(Default) = "XT9"

After all this, The Keypad and the compact QWERTY still output numbers, no matter ABC or T9 has been selected.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you.

Anyway, as I have spent like 5 hours on this. I decided to do the hard-reset on the phone and that's it. Problem solved.

Next time I will not try to waste time like this anymore, just do hard-reset and that's it.
