Custom Roms and Google Maps

I've noticed that most of the custom roms don't allow you to get your location through Google Maps. I'm curious as to why, since the phone will pick your location when running the weather tab... Am I just not setting something up correctly?

The rom shouldn't hinder google maps.
I suggest you use or update QuickGPS first.
Then start google maps and in the gps settings make sure it is set to gps intermediate driver.
Maybe something installed wrong so you might try uninstalling and reinstalling the app after updating QuickGps. It should work for you.
