New to flashing, does linux OS work?
Oiy!
I just joined today I've done as much research as possible but found nothing except how to unlock and flash with an SD card. Well... I have an HTC diamond and it does not have that option. I would like to be pointed to an area that can help me Flash/Unlock my CDMA (Sprint) Diamond with my linux.. Unbuntu 9.04 OS, all the tutorials and guides I find tell me to use ActiveSync which is of course a windows .exe program Blah! I'm new to your site and new to Flashing so any help would be greatly appreciated. I like tweaking with things and my phone is starting to get boring. :P Sorry If posted in the wrong area, a simple link to point be in the right direction would be awesome. I usually do all the reading I can before getting into new "actives" so I do not mess things up Haha! But I am completely lost in your forums. I even looked for a newbie thread but couldnt find one. :S Thank Again |

Welcome to the site! :)
I'm pretty sure you're gonna need to use a windows pc to unlock and flash your first rom. After that you could just download another rom and flash from internal storage. Follow the guide in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062 Lots of great info there so read through it carefully and you should be on your way. Happy Flashing! :D |
Re: New to flashing, does linux OS work?
have you tried using WINE to run the necessary windows apps?

Yeah to unlock requires a Windows PC but after that all you gotta do is transfer the NBH to the Internal Storage.
