Intermittent No Ring No Missed Call Notification

My Touch Diamond has been acting up. After receiving a voice mail notification when my phone clearly didn't ring, I decided to do some tests. On a fairly regular basis (with me calling the diamond from a land line), the phone will not ring, nor give a missed call notification.

If I switch to airplane mode and back, it will work for a few calls, then stop, then maybe work again.

I flashed back to a stock ROM (can't find a legitimate shipped ROM for MTS, as it says c4rbon kitchen in the Rom version field), and the problem still persists. In fact, when I am calling the phone (and it is not ringing), I can see the signal bars go from full to zero, full to zero, full to zero for the duration of the ring. Again, my land line call goes to voice mail and there is no missed call notification on the Diamond.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Try flashing a different Radio
or
Run your tests again from another location where the signal is more consistent

Which ROM? Also have you tried adjusting your SCI (Slot Cycle Index)?

Re: Intermittent No Ring No Missed Call Notification

It started while using Energy Rom, still happened after flashing to stock, it happened while using Obvious Rom (nice job, though!), again during stock, and again on 12/25 Obvious (but the signal bars don't flash when they are supposed to be ringing).

Sorry, but SCI is adjusted where? In one of the ## modes?

Re: Intermittent No Ring No Missed Call Notification

OK, I did a search on SCI. Thanks for the suggestion. However, when the phone does ring properly it's always on the tail end of the first ring heard on the outgoing line, so I think that's normal.

Re: Intermittent No Ring No Missed Call Notification

I think it's under ##778#. It almost sounds like it's set so high that by the time you are actually getting a phone call it has rang so much before your phone detects it. Try setting it to one or zero. If that doesn't fix it then I don't know what would be up. My ROM never gave me problems when I had my Diamond activated.
