Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

Me and my gf both have the Arrive and have noticed that the noise when you use the onscreen keyboard is now scratchy sounding. At first I thought it might have to do with the Mango update I did, but hers is the stock ROM. My phone has since gotten worse and my text and ringer tones sound like the speaker is blown. Any one else have this issue?

Re: Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

since its happening to both your phones, I suspect it may be the climate, or activities which affected your speakers; or more likely, the glue that seats it to the phone.

Do you have TEP?

I keep mine on full blast 30! I live in Michigan, so it gets hot & humid here.
What is TEP?

Re: Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

TEP = Total Equipment Protection aka insurance for your phone. Take them back to Sprint for repair of the speaker or replacement.

I just recently got an Arrive and I too have this problem! I'll have to take it in I'm assuming.

Re: Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

Yep the speaker seems to be blowing on a lot of Arrives. A Sprint repair center should be able to replace the speaker in under an hr or so. The speaker is the same as an EVO's so there are plenty of parts around.

Mine blew just over a month after ownership. Since replacement it has been just fine. Must have been a bad batch of speakers. :/

Re: Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

It looks like its probably an easy fix to replace the speaker.
here is a YouTube video i saw.
you can buy a new speaker from the same company that produced this video.

Re: Speaker Problems - Blown speaker??

I had a blown speaker on mine too. Sprint fixed mine in about 15 minutes. Uses the same speaker as the Hero. Had one "in house". No charge and painless.
