Macally Bluewave Bluetooth Stereo Headphones

Just bought the Macally Bluewave Bluetooth Stereo Headphones from geeks.com for $30... They work great with my Vista Computer and come with a broadcast adapter to use with non-bluetooth devices (like a iPod)... Has anyone used these with a 6700? I was able to set up a partnership using 0000 as a code (just like on my PC) but was unable to redirect the audio on the 6700...

These headphones do not have a mike and the only buttons are a slide switch to turn it on and off and a wheel for volume... I have no problem redirecting audio to my Jabba handsfree set...

I attempted to use BT Audio and BT Toggle to no effect... (They both work with the Jabba set okay)... I made sure the Jabba was turned off and the default Handsfree set was the Bluewave during testing...

Ideas? Failing all else, I use the broadcast adapter along with a cell to standard size adaptor I have, but would prefer to bypass the extra dongle it would become...

Ideas?

Thanks...

Have to ask the lame question, but just in case...are you running a ROM that has AD2P support?

Is AD2P needed?

Good question... I am not at the moment.... I am using latest official Sprint release but have tools to turn on unoffical AD2P support... (Will install lastest Clean and Simple Sprint 3.5 Rom sometime soon...)

Even so, I thought stereo headphones should still work, just using mono instead... Is this not true?

Anyway, will install the AD2P patch and let everyone know what happens...

For some reason the text of your last post isn't showing up unless I hit "reply" (I was all set to say that your post was blank!). Yes, I'm fairly certain you need AD2P for this to work. The headset actually uses the AD2P profile as opposed to the headset or handsfree profiles that are used by mono headsets. I don't recall where I read that it was on some product page for your headset.

Let us know how it works, $30 is a great price. I wonder why they're so cheap.

Added AD2P Profile on AKU2 Rom

Hmmm, must have been because I sent that message from my PDA instead on my PC... Should be visable to everyone now...

I have added the AD2P profile to my PDA via the instructions at
http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/p...e-posting.html without a problem... I won't be able to test the headphones till I get home tonight...

Good News, Bad News

I was able to use the headphones finally, but the speed was too slow on playback... I suspect it will be much better once I load up one of the AKU 3.5 Roms.... In the mean time, the iPod adaptor along with my 2.5 to 3.5 jack adapter work VERY well with the headphones, so I would still recommend them... I will update again when and if I update to a new Rom...

UPDATE: Using Sprint version of Plain and Simple 3.5

After reinstalling my apps manually (and not installing what I never used freeing up 25% of my storage card) I tried out my headphones again... Still too slow/choppy when playing in stereo... But now there is a Headset option that wasn't there before 3.5... Everything is in mono, but sound does come out from both headphones and it sounds good... Still need to use the dongle adapter if I want to hear stereo, but it was worth a try...

I imagine the headphones themselves only support a high bit rate when in stereo mode, so the 6700 can't keep up (with mp3 files at least)
