That tutorial is a bit short isn't it? I have NEVER used the kitchen and have NEVER built a rom with any tools. Will that be enough for me to understand how to do it?

vboyz, I have tried. So far, I just get errors on compatibility issues. However anything is possible. Better yet, how about just "On to Crossbow"

Its actually amazingly simple. Indeed you extract these files, run an executable, run another batch file, run another executable and presto you have the image. Flash that image to the phone, but running another exectuable and yer done.

The "hard work" is all pre-done for you, indeed that is the beauty of the kitchen. It does most of the work for you. So yes, indeedy it IS that easy.

I'm a sw engineer, and my word of wisdom to most newbies is "if they all ever figure out how simple and easy what we do is, well have to work nights and McDonals. So SHHH dont give the secrets away...

That applies here to guys. Relax... Just about anybody can do it. If you have installed CAB's on you're phone and can handle a command prompt you can do this.

for cross bow.. Keep an eye out. If helmi makes us a kitchen we are 900% of the way home..

As crossbow is WM5 based, it should be easy 'nough for him to build us one.. <praying>

I agree to a point and mean no offense, however, there is still a level of knowledge that is necessary to avoid the constant questions from people who have "bricked" their phones. I am all for giving knowledge to the people, but we have all seen how easy it is for a person to skip a very essential step or not know what they are doing and get into a world of hurt. With that said, everyone can do this. Just take your time.

I think a lot of the times its pure excitement that makes us skip a step here and there - excuse us, while we kiss the sky!

agreed. And for those who are "nervous" about it i would sugguest you wait for knowledgable people to build customized roms and tested them.

It is VITAL to take you're time, and READ all the information provided. If you follow what is on the wiki EXACTLY you should have a workable rom. From there, as you start adding other stuff you are ON YOUR OWN.

I don't understand if it takes my current rom and create the nk.nbf file for it or if I am to use one that is already made such as the newest one posted that works with the usb.

Do I have my phone in bootloader and then press the CreateOS.exe and then it takes the image from my phone's current OS or where does it get the info?

This is where I am lost. Where to begin...
