My phone always uses data, but as has been stated that isn't a data use, it is simply a PIX message for costs.

I think the only problem is if you had your data turned off, then it won't work. I've never tried over wifi.

My data is off when I'm at home, and I still receive my pictures over my wifi... All that you absolutely need is a signal... As long as you have enuff signal for the network to tell your phone you have a new pic, then it'll use any internet access you got to download it..

The only catch to that, is you may have to set the connection to just "The Internet" under the server settings.. That is what mine is on... It does not require a data plan at all, cause I fixed the MMS on Alltel, and ppl are now using it without even signing up for the data plan's on their phones... Just over WiFi...

C/mon Guys...stop postin Mine Works...Like I got mine you get yours but I'm not gonna help. I've been searching this forum and its driving me nuts.

Carrier: Alltel
PPC6700
WM6 Alltel Rom from Helmi_C found here

Configured MMS Settings with

Server Name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
Port # 8080
Server Address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Alltel Wireless
Sending Size Limitation: 350k (Can't seem to change this option. I think recommended was 300k)
Wap: Wap 2.0

and it is NOT working for me...so I'm still hunting the forums. If you have recommendations please post instead of saying..."gee, mine works"
