6700 WM6 texting issue

Okay, so i'm running WM6 and it's an old ver. but the texts i receive so the first line of text as the sender. I can't find anything online for a fix so PLEASE HELP!

There are numerous threads on this issue. Some say hard reset and some say reflash.

The best way is to hard reset and when it says "OEM will start in three seconds" hit soft reset hole right before.
