Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

Hey I think I got it. It is not with the kitchen but with one of 4 folders 2 folders in the OEM folder (namely OEM_WlanDriver, and OEM_WlanMgr) and 2 in the SYS\OS folder (namely wzsapi.dll, and wzsvc.dll). I swapped those 4 folders for the 4 in the Helmi release, and wpa-psk connects first time. I tried it on both this release LennySh_20273 and on LennySh_19213 current release and it worked on both. Not sure what file is in error but it is in one of those 4 folders.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

Ok limited it down some, the files in the OEM folder are the same in both LennySh and Helmi releases. The differences are in both wzcsapi.dll and in wzcsvc.dll. Both have multiple differences. not in the names or size of the files they contain, but in the files themselves.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

Anyone know of a place that I could post the modified RAR files for the 3 LennySh kitchens? I have modified the 19213, the 19588 and the 20273 releases RAR files, and yes wifi wpa-psk works in all 3. Well at least in all 3 of my 6700s.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

I have also tested it on my 6700 and it works, I told them yesterday. I think they'll probably just modify the .rars themselves and update the kitchen.

Thanks again.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

Alright, I installed this Rom last night and I must say it does feel a little snappier than Lenny's 19213 or Helmis official 6.1 rom. But of course their were a couple of problems that I am still figuring out. First, here is my selection.txt:

After 1st hard reset when Rom was finished installing it ran sluggish(as my roms always do after first hard reset). 1st problem was the time not updating. It updated in the taskbar up top but not in the HTC home menu. I went into the today screen and I changed some things like taking out bluetooth from showing and also owner information. I then took the Music tab out and then after I hit okay the screen was blank except for the taskbar and the date. The HTC home plugin was gone. Tried to go back into the Today screen but it would not go. I can click anything else, but the today screen will not go into it. Then I did a soft reset. After that I was able to go back into the Today menu and add HTC home back onto it(even though I never took it off in the 1st place). MY TIME IS NOW UPDATING THOUGH ON THE HOME SCREEN! So that problem went away. Plus after the soft reset was when I started to feel the snappiness of this rom. Everything was opening fast and running real good. Then I decided to make some calls and receive some calls(called it from my house phone.) I did #22899 and programmed my phone and all went well. Outgoing calls were no problem. Then with the incoming calls some things started to happen. 1st, the phone would not ring at all. I went into "sounds and notifications" and the ringer was set to ring and then I made sure the volume was up by using the slider on the side of the Apache and it gave me the little popup with the sounds properties and everything was set to high and I could hear the beeps. Tried an incoming call again and same thing. Also, while it has no ring with incoming calls, it also does not display "incoming call" with the name of the caller. The only thing that happens with an incoming call is the the screen will come on(if turned off) and the left soft key will change to "call status", but no ring tone and no caller ID. I then connected my bluetooth device and made an incoming call and the phone rings in my Bluetooth headset. But still no sound from the phone itself. I'm still messing around with it now. It might be the "Vogue Style Diamond Theme Dialer" that is messing things up. I will flash again with the normal dialer I have been using on Lennys 19213 and Helmis Rom(ibliss) and see if that changes anything

Another thing I noticed is that the ROM I cook has to be smaller than previous ones I have made. I started about 4-5 roms before I actualy got one within the correct size range. Maybe its just me, IDK.

This build worked well with Activesync(Mobile Device Center). I cooked this one on my Vista x32 machine.

All in all though this ROM is GREAT!! Feels snappier and looks BETTER!!! If I can get this phone to ring on incoming calls I will be set!! Thanx a bunch for this!!!=D>

Edit: Just built a new rom with the iBliss dialer instead of the Vogue diamind theme dialer and it fixes my problem! I now get my caller ID showing on incoming calls and the phone does ring now.

Thanks for your work on this! Nice job.

Hopefully, Lenny will post an updated version soon. I may have to try this now...

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

i realized yesterday when walking around boston that my phone was missing calls and never ringing. d'oh!

tried about 4 different dialers last night, all did the same thing christianpeso described. i also found them looking very odd (buttons all corrupt-looking). i even tried going back to 19588 and 19213 with similar selections, and got the same problem with all of them.

finally last night i went back to helmi's 19713. removed a bunch of my options, changed arcsoft mms back to v3, and when i was asked during the build process if i wanted to replace some files related to the smartdialer, i said "NO". and voila, the phone rang (and to bed i went...)

so i've determined it is actually something i had selected in the dialer that was destroying my dialer.

christianpeso, when you do your build, does it ask you to replace files related to htc smartdialer? and do you say yes or no for all of them? that is the only noticeable similarity i see between your rom and mine, despite both of us getting the same errors. Everything else we have in common i have on my current helmi build and everything's workng fine.

It sure does. It actually asks me to replace a few files. Here is the excerpt from my buildlog of the rom that gave me problems:

All the warning are where it asked me to overwrite. And I clicked "yes" for all of them so they were all overwriten. Dont know exactly what it is doing at this point but alot of my builds, not just this one, have asked me to overwrite something and I always click yes.

Re: Apache WM6.1 20273 Kitchen

So, before I try this again...
Some of you are able to use this kitchen basekit and build a ROM that will sync using ActiveSync with and XP PC? [Not Vista]
Correct?
