Thumbs down Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta

I just downloaded this to replace Go 2.0, expecting it to be "better" in some way. Perhaps it is, but if so, I haven't figured out how.

The only benefit I see so far is the ability to add or remove widgets. I have no use for celebrity news, so I can eliminate the entertainment widget. Great.

However, two big things make it all but unusable for me. First, it's slow as Christmas. You make a selection & wait for it... wait for it... Hmmm... did my phone just lock up? Nope... there it goes! Pathetic. To make it worse, there's no animated icon to tell me it's working... it just works in the background assuming you don't mind waiting your life away. This alone makes it worthless.

What's worse, though, is that I can't find out how to back-up my contacts to my Yahoo email. I've loved this feature in the past. I like the idea of my PIM backup AND my contacts backed up in cyberspace.

Oh, and a third niggling little annoyance is the fact that the "Okay" button doesn't work with the Yahoo Go "Okay" selections. You have to screen tap them or use the D-pad for the ones that aren't routed to a softkey.

Anyone else trying it out? Thoughts?

Re: Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta

How did you download this for the apache? I try and it says that it's not available.
