Verizon 6700 terrrribly slow after 6.1 upgrade

Anyone that can help with this? It's freezing a lot, not needing a soft reset freezing but takes a few minutes for it to do what it needs to. Everything just seems terribly slow

Re: Verizon 6700 terrrribly slow after 6.1 upgrade

Is there a lot of stuff in the ROM that you built? Mine is fine, the only time that it's slow is if it's just starting up or I'm getting a text/phone call and doing something else at the same time.

Re: Verizon 6700 terrrribly slow after 6.1 upgrade

I don't think I've installed too much. I didn't select much at all actually. I'm already debating downgrading to WM6 because it's just too slow. Screens seem to hang for some time, a good 45 seconds or more sometimes. Threaded txting takes a while to load. Main reason I switched was for threaded txting.

Had the same problem. Upwards of 150 contacts and it slows down. Try cleaning your contact book.

I actually ended up going back to 6.0, which fixed the problem. I don't like threaded txts anyways, hah.

Something else that could help that I've read is to change the auto-complete setting so that it isn't suggesting words after a space and set it to something higher (or turn it off)

Re: Verizon 6700 terrrribly slow after 6.1 upgrade

If you want to try again, I would not select Google maps, it uses a fair amount of RAM/ROM for storage of maps (and gets updated regularly, too). Live Search in map mode also is a resource hog - looks like the phone is freezing when I quit, but just wait 30 secondes and it comes back to life. In my case I traced crashes and performance problems to the version of S2U2 in the kitchen - installing it afterwards from the CAB for version 1.0 made my Apache much more stable.

Re: Verizon 6700 terrrribly slow after 6.1 upgrade

when i was on WM6 my phone was not one lick slow with my 220 contacts.

my replacement 6700 with wm5 though is pig slow with my 220 contacts.

don't entirely know if its the size of the contact lists or not.
