MP4 Video Desktop Playback - WM 6.0

I've taken some video's off my camera and tried to open them in QT and Divx for conversion but they fail to open the file.

I can open and play them with Windows Media Player.

Don't know what to ask other than how do I convert these videos into something I can pass around and know that they will work?

you could try super. Its a program by e-softright (i think)

Just do a google search it will convert all sorts of stuff.

Seems like you want to convert wmv to mpg4 right?

Actually want to take the MP4 files that my phone records and convert them into QT .mov.

More importantly, why aren't the MP4 files readable by everything except for WM?

When I try to open the file with QT, I get this error:
Error -2041: an invalid sample description was found in the movie (Pocket Doors.mp4)

Does anyone know which codecs the camera uses to encode it's MP4?

I found a fix: changed file extension from .mp4 to .3gp
