streaming with tcppmp

I have a xv6700 with wm6 installed. I stream music/video files from my edmini by wifi often. The problem arises when i try to stream from the edmini over the internet. When I open tcpmp and type in the internet ip of the network drive I do not get a response, not even an error message. The edimi requires a password when trying to access the drive through the internet, I am assuming the limited http capabilities will of tcpmp will not allow me view the iniatial page of the edmini or type in a user/pass.

Can Anyone help me find a solution to streaming files from my network drive to my xv6700 over the internet?

Thanks

Re: streaming with tcppmp

I have no idea what edmini is. Can you tell it what connection to use? Back when I first started using it, I had that problem with HTC Streaming Media until I set the connection properly.

You could always try Orb - www.orb.com

the edmini is a network hard drive. i have all my music on there. when connected by wifi I can access the files without a problem using tcpmp. When away from home and try to connect through the internet tcpmp does not work

It sounds like you need to forward the port for your harddrive. Google "Port Forwarding" for instructions. It seems kinda complex, so maybe orb might be easier?
