PPC-6700 SMS Error after WM6 Upgrade
 

Hi,

I'm having a weird issue with my SMS service. After upgrading to WM6, whenever I am replying to a SMS, instead of the phone replying back to the number that text me, it replies to the first word of the original message I am replying to.

For example,

Lets say your cell number is 111-222-3333
If you send me a text saying "Hey what's going on?"... When I hit Reply, Instead of replying back to 111-222-3333, the "To" field will say "Hey"

And the funny thing is, I think the problem is stemming from the fact that when I actually receive a text message, the "From" field actually displays the first word of the text message I got.

Example:
"From:Hey
Callback Number:111-222-3333
how are you doing?"


Has anyone else had this problem? Please give me your input on how I might be able to fix this. Thanks.

if i remember right, there were two things that casued this issue. one was failing to hard reset after flashing. the second was letting the carrier customizations run. you'll notice htat after a hard reset you'll get a little box that says something along the lines of "customizing in 3 secs." soft reset before they run. the customizations for you're specific carrier are built into the rom (dependent upon carrier and rom) . so you don't need them. even if they're not built into the rom, colonel has posted a pretty complete thread with all of em, which you need and don't need. you can install them after the flash. i believe there are threads on here that address this. check the helmi kitchen bug threads under the apache upgrades forum.
