Think of it as open wifi, when you change the channel on the wifi router, and you reconnect the pc/laptop will automatic change the channel on the laptop/pc to any channel that is set on the router. Since you are already paired.....changing the bt channel to maybe a cleaner channel is doing the same thing, try 1 thru 10 it is all hit and miss, also changing the bt channel they way you are thinking..would mean that the headset would not longer work....but it does since again it is already paired and will adjust with the 67 bt channel just like open wifi.

Re: Bluetooth randomly disconnecting

Thanks for that info. I learn a lot when I come here. I'll give that a try and see if it helps.

The Verizon programming fix didn't work for long...the bluetooth disconnected again about 6 hours after I upgraded the phone.

Ah well, trial & error, right?

Re: Bluetooth randomly disconnecting

I have the same problem. The BT process will randomly stop on my VX6700 (WM6 ROM). I have to stop and start BT, sometimes several times before it will successfully restart and reconnect. It's been happening more frequently of late. Sometimes every hour or so. It's fairly aggravating. I'll try the reg hack...

I thought about something this weekend, as other sporadic things happened...do you have a case with a magnet? It seems like if the phone gets turned on by some incoming message or a calendar reminder, somehow after I accept the reminder and shut the phone off, it may get bumped and happen to click the BT area & shut it off. That magnet has disrupted other things, like opening the reminder before I even get it out of the case, or bringing up the Time screen, or whatever the gremlins want to play with at the moment. But this is only a guess right now as to what is happening..

I used to use a case with a magnet but haven't in quite some time. It's really getting annoying. I think I'm going to start fresh with a clean ROM and see what happens. It seemed to work great for awhile after loading the last ROM but has gotten progressively worse.

i cut my magnet out and replaced it with velcro cause it was turning on my screen and killing my battery.

Re: Bluetooth randomly disconnecting

It was because of the WM6 Rom for me. I switched back to Kirvin's Clean and Simple WM5 Rom 2 days ago and my BT hasn't dropped since then.

It is the best Rom. It boots up with 32MB free ram. What can you say.

Re: Bluetooth randomly disconnecting

I was trying to avoid going back to WM5, if I could help it... There are too many features in WM6 that I like and am not willing to part with yet. Maybe if I absolutely can't stand the disconnects anymore, I'll go back. I was hoping someone could tell from my WM6 load if I was missing something or had added something that would conflict.

Anybody know of conflicts in the ROM load that may affect this and/or the data connection?
