unlock tools for xv6600

I know this is the Apache forum, but in reading posts from here and XDA's site it was unclear if there was any unlocking tools for the VX6600. I know I can't upgrade the OS. Props to the many people I read about who tried.=D>

From what I read, I was under the impresion the code that locks me to a piticular carrier needed to be hacked so the phone could be used by another carrier. I'm a newbie. Thanks for responding by the way!

Ah! You need the SPC, I think. You will also need a PRL from the new carrier. And of course a carrier willing to activate the phone on their network.

I just read a thread over on ppcphonehome about doing exactly what you want to do, but I don't remember how it turned out. Head to the 6600 forum there and see if that thread is still active.

I felt lazy for not giving you a link to the thread:

Not exactly what you asked, but good info.
