Kitchen Build Question

Ok all you kitchen experts I need some info on how the build process runs.

Does a personal OEM get applied during the flashing of a ROM, or is it after the device has been flashed and rebooted? I assume its after the reboot, since its possible that some registry entries a personal OEM might be looking to change might not actually be there until after the ROM flash. If this is not the case how can I ensure that a personal OEM is absolutely the last thing applied in the ROM flash? Would making the UID all f's do the trick?

If I cannot guarantee the above would it be preferable to take my personal OEM and make a cab out of it and then have it installed via TA?

Thanks,
Steve

all f's (or enough to make it last numerically) and placed in USER_OEM.

The build order is determined by multiple factors (from highest to lowest priority):
1) packages.sof (predefined order of core files)
2) selections dir order
3) guid (lowest alphabetically applies first)

OEMs aren't applied during the flash or boot process...they're applied during the build process.

So, USER_OEM should be the last dir processed in a standard selections.txt...if your OEM has the last guid in USER_OEM, it should get processed last.

Many thanks for that. This will help me immensely as I noticed in my build that my personal OEM entries were getting written with data that I was not specifying.
