MMS over wifi help

I've dropped the various versions of MMS into the kitchen and I'm using the 4.2 as of now. A few times while plugged in on the 3.0 version I noticed I got MMS downloads. I always got notices but never the actual message.

Then figured out it was when I had it plugged into my laptop running an evdo card.

As of now I can recieve/send messages on any of the versions but only when I'm on my evdo (verizon) wifi network at home. On a wifi anywhere else its a no go.

Does anyone know what I can do to be able to use MMS on other networks?

I could be wrong but, I believe that the MMS like SMS is only sent through the cell networks. as far as cost of the data plan and stuff I got as part of my package free unlimited text/pix/flix. it charges on the bill as data but it does not cost the .02 per KB that e-mail/IOTA would run up. if you dont have a package that includes that I think its only like 5-10 bucks a month for unlimited and cheaper if you get a 100 message limit.

you may have the plan, but the last i checked, you'll still be billed for data if you send/receive pictures or videos on your phone.

If I recall correctly the WM5 roms were able to do this over wifi, so far on WM 6 I haven't been able to get that to work.

You recall incorrectly, MMS doesn't work on wifi, didn't on WM5, doesn't on WM6, never even did on WM2003...

LennySH was able to get it to work, I have no reason to think he is lying here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...7933#post97933

Wonder if Lenny has verizon internet at home? I do and again it works just fine over wifi through my EVDO router but it does not work over wifi/comcast here at work.

I have the same wireless router here as home the only thing different is that Im on EVDO at the house vs cable here.

Would it be possible to setup a vpn to my evdo router home and route my MMS traffic there then out?
