Helmi WM6 Network folder mapping

UPGRADED! Got my HTC Home "today" screen with the big clock....wristwatch is in the drawer. Now time to fine tune.

Will I need to install the network folder plugin to map shared folders from my network to the Apache, or is this ROM capable of that without the plugin?

I installed the plug in....and it acts normally......sees the shared folders on my network when I browse for them, but it won't map them. If I manually type in a path to a folder I want to map, it tells me it mapped it successfully, but it don't show it to me.

Active sync works fine.............I can browse the internet thru the wifi connection to my lan.

Is your firewall setup to let your PPC see the network?
Like I said I don't know much about networking s I am just throwing out ideas.

C'mon fellas

Gotta be someone out there that knows what's up here!

My firewall settings were what there when the Apache was WM5, showing me the mapped network folders.......I don't think that's it.

The plugin obviously ain't workin' w/WM6.

Sarge,
I think you get the same basic functionality from Total Commander, which I use almost exclusively. Just navigate to \\\LAN\ and use <new server> to name your connections (you can give them drive letter names if you like) then specify the server path in the next window.
BTW, while it'd be great to have, I don't think there's a way to mimic the "Entire Network" browsing capability like we have on the desktop - it seems you have to know the server's name that you are looking for. I would love to be wrong here.

I was looking at the Total Commander too. Have you tried the GSFinder+ at all?

THe network plugin lets you browse the entire network, looking for shared resources. I don't know about TC or GSF+.

I use the active sync for contacts n such, but mapping to a network folder where all your music and plug-ins and fluff reside that you can just pull from or drop to is so much easier.
