usb port not charging - can i repair it?

my apache has become difficult to charge up the battery... I think the usb port is bad because i have to fiddle around with the port ,usually ending up applying pressure to the end going in the phone to make it work.I have tried car chargers and other usb cables with no luck.Is there any way to change it or must I send it back to UT Starcom for repair.Also I bought the phone used so it's customer pay... Any ideas? would be much appreciated.

Took my phone in to UT Starcom Canada.... It"s gonna cost me 185 dollars plus tax to fix it !!

Doesn't sound like you have any recourse in this matter bud. Best bet would be to go to Ebay and get another or something newer. A friend of mine just bought one brand new for $75 on ebay. I mean its not free but much cheaper than the $185 that UT Starcom is gonna charge you.

My phone is fixed and they gave me a new battery too... Phone now works great!!!
