Re: Should I Switch to Mango?

I have a quick question. Do I just plug in my Trophy and run the .exe from this link? Anything special I have to do? HTC Shipped Mango ROMs - xda-developers

If that is all you have to do to update it to Mango, how can I backup my NoDo?

Re: Should I Switch to Mango?

That's all I did. I downloaded the Verizon one, the last one of the list:

RUU_Spark_W_S_VERIZON_WWE_2.01.605.04_2K_new_parti tion_RELEASE.exe

Once you run the .exe, then the RUU will start. It looks just like the one from Windows Mobile 6, if you're familiar with flashing roms. The RUU's instructions are pretty clear from there.

Also remember, you should NOT have HSPL installed on your phone in order to run this rom. Doing so will brick it, according to the forum post in your link.

Official Mango comes out in a week or two...

I agree with what @Dr.8820 says, either wait the week or 2 or u can install the windowsphonehacker method which is much less of a risk than that one because I've heard that that rom is not yet complete as pointed out by @DavidinCT

Yea, on my replacement phone, I rolled back to Nodo and just did the Zune Mango update (with a backup or 2). The firmware is nice on the leaked rom, it is faster, battery is better, etc but, You can't roll back (it's questionable for upgrade to final) and it can't be fully unlocked right now.

The word is that most carriers will be releasing Mango for their phones in the next 2 weeks. With this being said, almost everyone accept for Verizon or Sprint (not a peep from them).

So, depending on your carrier, you might as well wait or do what I did. If your on AT&T it looks like you'll see it on next Tuesday(depending on your model phone).

So, about 2 weeks sounds right, after AT&T hits, I'll be riding Verizon to find out when.

So, unless you can't wait (I couldnt and I have a backout plan), I'd wait if your not sure on what your doing.

Re: Should I Switch to Mango?

I posted this before Microsoft released that article about it being available in a week or two.

My phone acts incredibly slow, so I was thinking of upgrading to see if that helps. But it looks like Verizon might be on the ball with this one, so I'll wait.

Re: Should I Switch to Mango?

Verizon's site is up for mango, the release is claimed on the 27th from a few sites....Yes, tomorrow, inline with AT&T and other carriers.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/general-wi...o-site-up.html

So, the wait might just be over for everyone. The question still remains, do I have to roll back to NODO to take the update (and lose all my game settings) or will it take it over a Mango 7720 pre-release ?

That we should find out tomorrow...
