Voice Turn by Turn Directions / GPS
 

Hi, I just ordered my HTC Trophy with an extended battery. I will really miss the Garmin Mobile XT from Windows Mobile...Are turn by turn directions available, at least from the Bing App? I will REALLY need those...

Will there be an option to say...buy maps for the phone, and use those with the GPS receiver, as opposed to using data for downloading them from Google / Bing?

There are a few paid ones in the marketplace I havent tried them yet but I'm sure bing navigation is coming in mango

Not now but this fall yes there are a few voice navigation apps in marketplace now

Voice navigation apps...are they just working with Bing Maps?

Any possibility that we could have offline maps in the future? That would REALLY save on battery life.

If the link doesn't work, search for pocketnow mango turn by turn. Why couldn't they have at least made it like Bing
on Windows Mobile?

odd hd7 has TeleNav GPS with "turn by turn and att/tmo wp7 devices have bing but no 'turn by turn"

I used Bing maps the other day for a trip as a makeshift GPS navi system (3 1/2 hour trip and I miss TomTom), It worked but it means looking at the screen a lot and trying to figure out how long the next exit on the highway was....

It worked and got me where I needed to go but, yes, I really miss a True Navi system, still dreaming for Tomtom for WP7...then It would be complete.

Edit: I installed mango...Voice turn by turn but, you have to touch the screen for next voice updates. I tried it to a few locations, it works great. Every day mango gets better and better...
