Spirit
I have a 3G with Blackra1n on it right now. It's backed up. What do I need to do in order to upgrade to the latest OS and jailbreak with Spirit?
Can I just upgrade the OS and then immediately run Spirit? Do I need to restore first? If so, do I lose everything? Thanks for the help guys. |
Re: Spirit
Do the upgrade then restore. If you restore after using spirit you will restore to the regular un-jailbroken os.

Re: Spirit
OK, so:
1. upgrade OS 2. restore 3. Spirit Correct? |
Re: Spirit
Yes that is correct. Thats what I did on my dads phone and it worked just fine.

I would just wait till that comes out and jailbreak it. Either way back-up all your data first, then upgrade, then jailbreak, but again, seems pretty pointless to upgrade from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 (you're not on a tethered jailbreak cuz ur on a 3G). |
Re: Spirit
Make sure you use auto shsh to back up the blobs....always backup backup backup

And out of curiosity, what carrier are you using/planning to use the iPhone on? (cuz if tmobile/any gsm other than att is involved DO NOT UPGRADE TO 3.1.3) |
Re: Spirit
I'll be staying AT&T. I'm currently on 3.1.2 and really, I'm just planning ahead to 4. I don't see a reason to move to 3.1.3.

yeah 3.1.3 didn't offer anything other than a supposed battery indicator crash and updating the baseband so unlocked users would be screwed. If you're on 3.1.2 just wait till 4 drops in a couple weeks. Since you're on a 3G though you're going to have to get a hacked version of 4 because they turned off multitasking for 3G (even though all us jailbroken 3G users have been multitasking for a long time with no issues...) |
Re: Spirit
Hoping Verizon releases that sexy new iPhone 4G so I can switch to them :)
