Help with Ringtones

My GF's ringtones sometimes work and sometimes dont.

Not new to Android but new to this phone, Samsung Nexus S 4G.

Set up notifications folder like previous Android devices.

She is missing calls a lot because her phone doesn't ring all the time.

Only fix I have found and is a temporary fix, Slide the bar on screen to silence phone, then slide it again to turn volume back up?

Any one else experience this or know how to fix?

Non rooted - and stock

Stock Rom. Phone is brand new. Ringtones sometimes work and sometimes don't.

Phone stops giving audio alert for ringtones. Ever stock tones until we slide the on screen silence bar to silent, then back to audio alert.

Only 3rd party app as far as music is Zedge wich is a ringtone picker. But that app did work on previous android devices.

That helps, remove zedge and softreset and see if that helps.

Thanks. Tried that. Still having same problems. Looks like she is gonna have to settle for a hard reset or a replacement.

Thanks but that was the 1st thing I did to the phone for her when she got it. And I copied the ringtones etc from the folder I created for her on her old Optimus.
