Nexus One on Bell Mobility?

Hello just wondering the if I purchased the Nexus One and imported it to Canada will it run on the Bell Mobility Network. I tried to find some answers regarding this issue, but I thought I would turn to the experts...

Re: Nexus One on Bell Mobility?

No. Even with the HSPA network Bell it won't work.

Bell and Rogers use 850mHz (Band V) and 1900mHz (Band II)

The Nexus One in it's current build is only compatible with 900/1700/2100mHz.

Technically the hardware itself supports all the GSM and UMTS bands; however the phone itself is only compatible with the ones mentioned above. Probably as a result of some launch agreement with Tmobile.

Re: Nexus One on Bell Mobility?

Hey Guys,

I got the Google Phone from a friend in the US. It works on our Rogers line. However the internet does not.

For some reason however it does not work at all with my Bell sim card. So if you have Rogers, it works well, just take data roaming off and use WiFi.

Anyone got the regular phone/sms functions working with Bell?

Cheers

Re: Nexus One on Bell Mobility?

The conjecture is that the FCC has now passed a device (presumed to be nexus one) for AT&T, Rogers, Bell and Telus! Linked here.

Perfect timing what with the OTA update being released.

The bell mobility are using CDMA network. Therefore the Solo Mobile also uses CDMA too.. since its a subsidiary of the Bell.

Re: Nexus One on Bell Mobility?

Bell has EV-DO as well as HSPA/HSPA+ so their handset options are much broader. That's why they have the iPhone 3Gs.
