Auto backlight not turning down all the way

For some reason when I have my auto backlight on, it won't turn the brightness down all the way in a pitch black room. I have to force it to the lowest. Does this change in mango?

Not on mine, (Mango Beta) on auto it seems to be somewhere between medium and low.

Re: Auto backlight not turning down all the way

I noticed the same thing. What I figured was that the brightness from the phone itself (even in a pitch black room) is what's keeping the light sensor from going all the way to low. If you cover it with your finger it does indeed drop down to the lowest level. It may be a bit too sensitive for it's own good.
