my premango backup dissapeared. How? and what to do now?
 

I made a backup back when I switched to Mango just like I was suppose to do. I took the file and moved it to my external HD. I went to restore it yesterday and moved the file back to the 'WIndows phone update' folder. I started zune and it earesed the file. I now have no backup, what happened and what should I do now?

well one thing u can do is check to see if the C:\lPreMangoState folder is still there,if it is u can take the contents inside and copy it back to the windows phone update folder or u can click on the restore.bat in the mangoforall folder which will also goto the PreMangoState folder. another thing u can do if u don't have an HTC Trophy is go on XDA and download the corresponding stock rom for ur device and carrier and then reflash that.

Depends on the methoid that he used to install it... PreMangoState was only for that script that was on that windowshacker site. If you went through the Microsoft methoid (a lot of people did) the backup was made at

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update

Also the place you want copy the backup folder (GUID) to have it show up in Zune to restore.

I used the Microsoft method. Thus i went to the %appdata---windows phone update% folder.

I moved my backup file folder into the windows phone update folder. Launched zune, and immediately the folder that contained my backup (8gb) was replaced with a folder with the same name but none of the contents about 300kb now.

I notice on the xda site there are ROM's for USA - Tmobile. Which one should I flash?

well im banned from xda right now so I can't check for sure, but once flashed u should be able to chevron unlock since u'll be back on NoDo or maybe even pre-NoDo

3.01 is 258mb and 2.20 is about 30 mb.

what are these and which one do I flash, or do I somehow need both of them?

Once I flash to these will I be able to use zune to update my phone?
Will zune recognize these as offical versions of wp7 os? and update normally?

I would install the 3.01 one. this should revert ur HD7 back to NoDo and also possibly erase everything on it.
